Hey ug,

Again a thread from me..
But this will be the last one.. I hope xD

What do i have to buy first, a new guitar or a new amp?
I prefer to buy the guitar first, cuz i play more without my zoom 9150
And i will take my guitar to school xD

But i really dont know :S

My parents said to me i have to buy the amp first, but they also thought a Tt will suit good for modern metal ( cuz its 400 euro xD)

My guitar is really bad xD
It has a weird sound when i strum hard ( i think the tremolo is bad )

Please help me xD

Greetz,

Jeffrey de Kok

Ps:

my rig:
Stagg strat 200 blk
Stagg 15W amp ( use as poweramp and extra eq )
Zoom 9150 ( use with my headphones or as preamp )

Hey,

I think you should buy the amp first. You'll have a better tone that'll dissimulate the guitar for awhile. then you can buy a better guitar. For 400€, you can get a bugera at thomann. great amps for the price. If valves isin't a priority, maybe a RANDALL KH-75 COMBO - X SERIES, or a VOX VT120+. great amps for metal and clean as well.

Cheers and good luck,

D.

thanks xD

I was doubting in getting a HD500 / 6505+ 112 or a ESP LTD ec-401 ( maybe a ec-1000 VB when it's a big deal )

will check the deals used ( when it's here.. ( so never ) )

The amp makes up more of the tone, but if your guitar right now is really bad then I'd suggest getting a new guitar. A better guitar will help you play better and inspire you to play more.

However, if you feel your guitar is adequate, then go for a better amp.

tnx

well, the tromolo is a bit fluffy ( you hear a bad sound when i strum )
and i like a bit faster neck
and my guitar moves too much when i play ( so more wood in the body will be better and LP's are TEH sex )
and my amp is good enough ( exept i dont know ho too set everything etc xD )

I'd go for a new guitar then. It seems that even if you do get a new amp, you don't really have the ear for tone right now to appreciate it. A new guitar would have a much more immediate effect on you.
