So this has no real clean channel, am I right?

IIRC the TT's are all 1 channel amps..

with 3 buttons: tone, volume and gain

What so they've done away with tone knobs and opted for tone buttons instead?

Yeah i clocked these a few days ago.

Its channel B from the thunderverb, the shape control controls the midrange, to the left is all mids, bass and treble cut, to the right is no mids, bass and treble boosted.

They look pretty slick.

3 12AX7's and a 12AT7 used as a power tube...
Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...

Bunch of faggots putting random riffs together and calling it "progressive" deathcore.
Stupid name.
Probably picked "for teh lulz"

Almost any half-decent valve amp can sound like Kyuss if you crank it and stick a fuzz pedal in front.

Yeah, but the Shape control on that amp is really intense. It only sounds usable at noon. Anywhere else, in my opinion, and you start to lose important characteristics of your guitar.

It's a cool feature to have in a little amp like that, though. You don't really buy little fuckers like that for versatility. You buy them to have a laugh in your garage with your mates.

I've been waiting for a thread to pop up for this amp, lol

Personally, I'm rather disappointed with it. Not saying that it will be bad by any means, but after I read the name, I was really hoping it would be some kind of awesome modern high gain monster.

Reading the description and specs though, it seems to be almost the exact opposite

Thing is, for a little more dosh you can get a TH30 and have a clean channel thrown in too.
A VERY nice clean channel.

The Dark Terror is the same spec as TH30's dirty channel except it's only 15w.

Looks cool though.
#27
Id imagine its more vintage voiced than the TH30 though^ The preamp stage in the TH30 is based on the rockeverb too.

Channel b on the thunderverb is pretty high gain. It's obviously not gunna be an amp for tight scoopy metalcore brootz, this is Orange were talking about. Sludge and stoner stuff is getting more popular, its an amp for blazing a fat doobie and playing the main riff to Dragonaut lazily.

I'm know Down use the thunderverb, im not sure if its channel b though.

The shape control has its disadvantages, but its much better than a basic tone control. I find the usable range between 9 and 2 oclock.

All I can find on the web is: "Tiny Terror amp, but voiced more for the metal crown."

I want to hear one... Roll on the demo's
#29
id rather just get a th30

wtf that wasnt metal

I dunno, for the kinda sound I expect from Orange, this is exactly what I thought I'd hear. Ya throw a drive on that thing if you want, and you're good to go. But then, our definitions of metal might differ :P... I can see this doing the Sword real good and probably High On Fire, too.

I'm not basing my opinion of this amp on that clip.
#35
Looks nice, not sure if want yet though.

The problem with buying lower quality amps for me is that I feel like I am getting a not as good version of another amp. In this case it would be the Thunderverb/Rockerverb feel that I feel I am ripping off... Nice though, I'll have to check it out.
#37
wat, so its just a revoiced TH30?

Where did this thunderverb stuff come from then..

Sounds cool, bit darker than my TH, but since i have a TH anyway i dont need it. A darker voicing switch on my TH would be a plan though.
#39
That guy really needs to demo it a bit better. Didn't really push it full, I liked the change which the shape did. Doesn't sound much different to my TT with a boost. I wonder how that'd tighten up with a boost?
