Hey guys, just realised I've got £200 coming my way, I'm wondering what pedals I should consider as I know not much about effects.

I currently own a Boss CE-3 and a Digitech Bad Monkey, what other effects should I consider?

Sorry about that.

I'm in a melodic metal band who do 80's metal covers. With a Laney AOR as an amp. I'm wanting some pedals to tinker about and to make strange noises with ALA the Edge from U2 style.

depends on what kind of music you play. Since you already have the bad monkey (i was going to recommend sd-1, mine has an 808 mod), I would go for a phase or flange pedal. I think that a wah is some sort of a staple for a pedal they are affordable and a lot of fun.

I play melodic metal, I'm only after pedals so I can make some silly noises with them to be honest and strange effects too.

Ohh yeah, a moogerfooger phaser's a wicked effect. My guitar teacher has one and it can go from normal phasing to insane settings, lol.

I think my suggestions may be a bit out of your budget, but are definitely interesting XD

make sure you try them out before you buy them, it is an investment and should be thought as such, some pedals just don't fit some players. that being said the pedals that NakedInTheRain posted are very amazing pedals, but are costly.

Yeah they definitely are an investment...
I have a basic multi-fx for fun factor, tried some modelling stuff on the comp, but yeah, personally after that I'll be going for specific pedals to nail the tone I want and that I don't plan on having to replace for a long time.

Thinking of going with Tom's suggestion here.

How much would a rackmount be?

how do you mean?

As in a complete rack mount setup?

Or just effects based? Usually individual rack mount effects are more expensive than pedals.
