Does such a rare thing exist? I've never seen a used splawn for sale so where should I look? I'm sure there must be a splawn forum of sorts, with a classified section. So any help with my search would be appreciated.

In the States, you can find plenty. In Europe, it's nigh impossible. Where are you located?
The U.S. Michigan to be exact.

I've honestly never seen a used one for sale anywhere on the net

In that case it might be helpful to ask this here as well: what are the differences between the nitro and the quickrod?

Even on the Splawn forums, good luck finding anything that isn't a QR, Nitro or Street (Fail) Rod.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

Feel free to express yours so I can make an informed judgement about how stupid you are.

Yeah, but the Pro Mod and Competiton are better, IMO.

Always creep your local craigslist locations and you might get lucky every once in a while. Somebody had a Splawn Nitro and custom road case for the head and the rack for like $1700 IIRC. The best things come up on CL, like the fact that 2 different 1967-68 Sunn Sceptre half-stacks have been posted in the past month.
