hey errybody

I have a ts808 and recently whenever i turn it on, my tone sounds really weak and bad.

I use a dc brick to power it, and even tried changing the 9v battery inside of it too.

When its connected but off theres no problems, just when its on.


I bought it in december, and theres no damage- so i'm wondering if this is a common thing, or if i should start calling repair shops.

Max out it's level, set tone to around 12 o'clock, and turn drive or gain almost all the way down.

How does the tone pot feel?
Normally "O'clock" settings go from 7 O'clock to 5 O'clock (7,8,9,10,11,12,1,2,3,4,5). 6 makes it sound like a broken or damaged pot or connection.

Is there any sound difference between on and off?
Describe it if so.

And are you handy with a soldering iron?
The cost of the components on the PCB inside probably total less than $10.

I use what Gundamnitpete said basically. I know what it sounds like normally on.

On, my tone sounds a lot weaker and rough. (the opposite of what its supposed to do)

Off, amp sounds way I set it.

Is it in the fx loop or infront of the amp?

I tried it with and without the isp decimator in front too, it works the same

fiddle with the knobs while playing and its turned on. what changes occur?

Theres really not much to a TS circuit. Maybe bad OpAmp?

I've had mine for 3 years, never had a problem with it.

Try other cables and/or clean the sockets with some contact cleaner on a plug.
