OK, now since I have been told that a 28.625(9465748393 ) inch scale is perfect for tension or something like that for an 8 string, I have 3 options, all Agile.

Intrepid Pro 828 (MN NA) http://www.rondomusic.com/product2446.html
Intrepid Pro Dual 828 (MN NA) http://www.rondomusic.com/intrepidprodual828.html
Interceptor 828 (MN BF) http://www.rondomusic.com/interceptor825mnbkflame.html

I want a wide variety of tones, I will be playing clean sometimes, but will more often than not be chugging, or doing more rhythmical type playing, which I feel the Pro Dual and Interceptor would be good for, as both have a neck and bridge pup.

The regular Pro 828 though is kind of confusing as it only has a bridge EMG, and seems like it would be limited in its uses, but EMG's have a more even tone with 8 strings.

However, if I was to get an Interceptor, it would be my first floating bridge, and I would most likely lock it. (It would be cool to do some little vibratos though too.) How would I lock a Kahler trem? Same way as the FR?

EDIT: I'll hopefully be playing through a Blackstar Stage 60.

I see you liked my amp suggestion
but by "Locking" do you mean a locking nut? If so I'm sure it's the same.
And the EMGs are really popular with 8 strings because they do help balance out the lower frequencies from the lower strings.
But, if you want the floating trem and dual pickups I say go with the interceptor!

to block a kahler is much easier than on a FR. on the kahler there is a screw in the back, just turn it and the bridge is locked.

Ok, awesome, and yeah, I meant block not lock.

Don't they do the septor 828s anymore?

Exactly what you want but with a fixed thru bridge.
