When playing Whole Lotta Love on lead guitar, the parts which are open string on the E string, are you supposed to palm mute?

The tab goes something like that. Whenever you play the 0, should you palm mute?

Whenever I dont palm mute, the E string rings and just overlaps the power chord (i think correct me if i am wrong) with is the 9 and 7, it sounds like crap.

Im a newb, yes, massive newb haha.

Palm mute all the open notes that aren't at the same time as the chord.

In the power chord section, strum the power chord and the open E, then palm-mute the three open E's afterwards.

haha i think i got it, just move ur palm a bit away from your guitar really fast when playing the chord, this is good fun

Also, when you play the power chords, let the tip of your first finger touch the E string slightly to mute it just in case.
