Out of all the set classes in the 12 tone system, which set class has only one unique transposition and is it inversionally symmetrical?

In tonal harmony, identify one route to modulate from C major to B minor using modulation by common chord.

Identify one non diatonic chord in a major key that fits the lydian b7 mode. Identify a chord that fits the altered dominant.

...modes and scales are still useless.

You don't need to learn anything next- you see, what you really need is a new amp.

But seriously, what do you mean? A language? A song? How to do certain maths problems? That's quite the open-ended question there.

Alter those last 2 chords to an augmented 6th chord and a neapolitan 6 chord.

...modes and scales are still useless.

I don't know what either of those are.

I'm sitting here with my guitar and lesson notes, trying to figure it out. :\

Augmented 6th would be a chord based on a #6 interval of whatever key you're in. A neopolitan 6 is basically a major chord based on the flat 2nd interval.

Second one: E dim (or A# min/b5) > B min.

But for the rest, I'm not going to try to compare my knowledge to a Berklee student.

Not quite... You're on the right track.

A neopolitan 6 is basically a major chord based on the flat 2nd interval.

Essentially correct but N6 is specifically voiced on its 3rd. Why and what is its function? What is it usually succeeded by?

...modes and scales are still useless.

Sorry, e dim is not native to either keys. Hint: you don't have to modulate directly from C to b.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but an augmented 6th is impossible?

And augmented chord is:
1 #5 3

And a 6th chord is:
1 b5 #3 7

Gaahhhhh

Augmented 6th refers to the outside interval, eg Bb - G#. You may notice that this is the same thing as a b7. It's spelled this way for voice leading functions: the Bb moves half step down to A and G# moves half step up to A. The inside voices contain 1 or 2 tritones, therefore the aug 6th chord usually has a dominant function.

German aug 6 to V to I in D major:
Bb D F G#
A C# G A
D D F# A

...modes and scales are still useless.

Then, Em?

I don't want to write out a full chord progression, my brain is too dead. But Em would be what I'd place right before the Bm.
