I was wondering what the effects would be of engaging the boost mode on my special 6 and then using a dist pedal over that would be? Should I just use the distortion on the clean setting?

Iirc the boost mode is actually the "normal" mode, the clean mode is just attenuated a bit.

A boost should be jsut fine if you dial it in right.

nah actually i imagine (depending on the pedal) it'd sound better in boost mode, as the boost mode is warmer, and in my experience most distortion pedals are a bit bright.

EDIT: Plus if you prefer the tone of a pedal into a clean amp, you can dial in the boost mode to be clean too.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.
