Hey guys. I'm in a band, and when we're playing live, I always get complaints that my guitar isn't loud enough during the solos. So I turned my amp up to solve the problem. However, when doing this, I end up overpowering my rhythm guitarist in the process. So, the solution is obviously that I need a pedal or something to switch on during solos and lead passages that will boost the volume to an audible and enjoyable level.
I've heard of a few different routes I can take. The two main ones I've heard so far are: 1) EQ pedal. or 2) a light overdrive pedal (TS9).

But I was basically just wondering what I can do to solve this problem. Don't say a volume pedal, because I was coerced into trying one, and it destroyed my tone when it wasn't at full-blast.

Thanks.
