Try and find the MIA used, you can probably grab one for around $1000 give or take. In either case the MIA is a much much much better bass then your average MIM.

before i bought my mim jazz i played alot of mias and mims to be sure, i couldnt feel much difference, however if you have the extra money i'd look at sandbergs, the difference is astounding

They're also completely different companies.
From what I'm aware of, Sandbergs are a strictly British company and feel more like Ernie Balls.
