So I am having some trouble deciding on what I want to do.
I have a bugera 333xl 212, Jackson RR3 with BKP PK/C-Pig.
I kinda like that tone the lead channel gives off when I start push how hot the tubes are running but I just dont feel that it has enough gain to it. I have a Landmine distortion pedal that I run on the clean lately but I don't like how it sounds, it lakes the power of my lead channel. How should I go about picking out a pedal to use, I play only metal, maily melodeath and tech, with the odd power metal and hair metal ballad.

you have tons of options, most od pedals are based on the tubescreamer.

cheaper ones, you have the tonerider one, biyang (though reliability can be iffy), gfs (rebadged/lightly modified biyangs), boss sd1 (it's not a clone of a tubescreamer, it sounds a bit different, but it still works as a boost), then you have things like deltalabs and stuff like that which i haven't tried.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Depends on what kind of budget you're on.

If you've got like $100 bucks to blow on an OD, you could grab a used Maxon OD808, or a new TS9.

You could grab a used TS9 for probably like 60 bucks or something.

If you have a tighter budget, look into a Digitech Bad Monkey or maybe a Boss SD-1. Cheaper alternatives..

You don't need anything fancy, as you're probably just wanting to look for a boost from the pedal. Level at 10, no gain, tone to wherever.. Helps kick the amp a little harder.

Both of those are insanely overpriced for use as a simple boost.

An Ibanez TS7 or Digitech Bad Monkey are more than adequate.

try the Digitech Hardwire Tube Overdrive. it does the tubescreamer thing and has a switch that boasts the distortion level. it also has a better EQ than many of the other options.

That's what I'd have thought. If you're running the pedal through a boutique cornsniffer amp run pretty clean, then you'll hear a (pretty big) difference with a boutique pedal (assuming it's a good boutique pedal, lol). Run through a high gain amp's distortion channel? I wouldn't want to say there'll be no difference, but there'll be much less of one, I'd have thought.

Ibanez TS9DX gives you some nice versatility as well. I use mine a lot.

EDIT: never mind, suggestion too late.
