So as I was sitting trying to figure out which version of The Clash's first album I liked better, the U.K. one or the U.S. one, I had this idea for a thread in the pit. So just out of curiosity, what is country puts out most of your favorite music, o wise and mighty Pit?

Just taking a quick look at my last.fm, I'd have to say I'm a fan of American music most. The British music.

In terms of a foreign country, I'd say Poland, partly out of heritage, and because I love polka.

the USA...

Mainly Seattle and California for breeding such a wide array of music I love

I seem to dig bands from the UK, Sweden and Finland a lot.
Gear:

Guitars: Ibanez SV5470F, Ibanez Xpt700, Fender MIM Standard Stratocaster ('04-'05), Jackson Ps-2
Ashton AG200,
Amps: ENGL E530, Bugera 6262-212,
FX: TC Electronics G-major 2, Behringer EQ700, Morley Volume / Wah

Seeing as how my top 6 favorite artists on last.fm are all from the US or the UK, I'd say those two.
#9
Well US is about 5000000 times bigger than UK so obviously they're gonna have more bands I like but on terms of how much I like the music I'd say UK.

American I believe. Then British or Canada. Quite a few bands I like are Canadian. (Billy Talent, Protest The Hero, Rush, etc)

American bands comprise the plurality of my favorite bands, but not the majority by a long shot. so if i have to pick just one country, it is the United States.

Check out my band Disturbed

No idea.

I like a lot of punk bands from the UK, but I like a lot from America too.

But the UK has Biffy Clyro. It's probably a tie.

1,000% Japan. Their definitions of genre and style are so broad and loose, it's not uncommon to see multiple styles incorporate (well and seamlessly) into a single song, let alone a whole album.

The GazettE, Abingdon Boys School...

Doesn't get much better than that, IMO.

As a close second, I'll call Australia. Karnivool, Fair to Midland, Dead Letter Circus. All great bands.

Being British born and bred....American music.

I quite dislike modern British music, as it's usually classed as indie and modern stuff I find all very generic and boring. My top bands are all American, so much more exciting music I think.
#24
Hard to say. My music collection is very international. I think it depends more on the genre for me. For example, I prefer my Black Metal to be Scandinavian and French, while I usually prefer core genre bands from the US. But things like Electronic and Folk music tend to come from all over the place for me. So, I think it really comes down to the genre. I don't like much Canadian music despite being Canadian myself, but Devin Townsend is more than enough to solidify my national pride in music.

Canada, I just look at my I tunes and I see just see a lot of my country putting out a lot of good music (Alexisonfire, Arkells, Attack in Black, The Sheepdogs, The Deep Dark Woods, The Sadies, Cuff the Duke, etc etc) Just a lot of good indie music....

Biffy Clyro
Sucioperro
Glasvegas
Twin Atlantic
Marmaduke Duke

Scottish Rock FTW!

New Jersey is the best place for music (I know it isn't a country) solely because of Springsteen and the Gaslight Anthem.

Probably England because of Tesseract. I'd say most of the bands I listen to are from the US though.

edit: And Russia because of all the Romantic composers.

Ingerland.

Mainly because of Drum n Bass, Dubstep, UK Garage, Jungle, Grime and Breakbeat Hardcore. And of course because of all the great rock music to have came out of Ingerland.
