You are EXTREMELY WRONG! I have played it. I own an 18W and it would be an awful stereo amp, it's way too bright, breaks up too easily and so on. Secondly, why would a guitar store sell an hifi amp.
#5
Pretty honestly, I've got my Ibanez S2120XAV and American Strat set up so that, between the two, I can hit just about any style as long as the amp can do it.

Jackson Kelly = Metal
Nylon String = Classical, folk
Steel String = Bluegrass
Fender Strat = Everything else
#30
blooze = A well set up 50's strat, or a 335.

doom/stoner metal = my Orville SG, with a JB in the neck and some random-assed old Seymour Duncan that ohms out at 17

70's rock/black metal/funk = My MIJ '72 Oly White Strat. That hoe is like a chainsaw son! Str8 rippin', until I throw on a nice clean and it's not too quacky. Funk city

indie = something old and obscure with single coils, like a Gibson SG-100, a Kalamazoo KG, a Duo-Sonic, or an old, beat-to-crap Epiphone Casino.

Gear that I'm using most, in their respective colors:
Squier MIJ '62 Strat reissue
Orville '62 SG reissue

High E strings are useless anyway - even when you tune them SUPER low, they still sound all "SCREEEE SCREEE."
