Today I got a new American Tele neck. Hurrah! Anyway, I'm having some issues with buzzing. It's sort of randomly placed, but most notably on the open low E and the first 5-6 frets on that string. The action seems to be set pretty high, but the strings seem very close to the fretboard. Am I looking at a truss adjustment?

I'm getting mixed messages here. I always thought "action" refers to the height of the strings above the frets?
Good point, I mean the saddles are set as though the action would be high, if I make sense?
Is there no more room to adjust the screws on the saddle? Raising it by a tiny amount, maybe even half a turn, can sometimes solve the problem.
Did you place the neck right? Dunno, just suggesting.
Yeah it sounds like you need to adjust the truss rod
I need to add relief right? So counter-clockwise?
Oh, in addition, this neck has an extra fret, but it's an overhang. That won't make any intonation difference right?
