Hello guys, this is my first post on UG. Nice to join here

I am new to electric guitar. I just wrote a song and feel a need to record it on my macbook. I have a Godin LGXT with seymour duncan pickup, along with a 10 ft cheap cable(scripted RockCable on thread of the cable, got it for 6 bucks) which goes into my mobilePre USB preamp. I record with logic 9. the problem is, when i listen to what i recorded, there is a fairly noticeable electric current noise in the background. pretty annoying. I heard it might be has something to do with shielding. but is it the shielding of the guitar or is it the shielding of the cable causes this noise? any input will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance
