currently i have iTunes,

and it runs like shit on windows, i have a new laptop, and itunes drops my battery life from 8.5 hours to 4. It also is slow, hogs process power, and regularly crashes.

(win7 64bit)

what do you use?

Ive used zune and its great actually, also looks awesome, but just interested in some other alternatives.

Oh ****. I'm the same. W7x64 and itunes. Is that why I have fuck all battery life?
I occasionally use Spotify if I cannot be bothered to load up youtube. Windows Media Player is just...rubbish after itunes which has the most comfortable lay out IMO.

well its only an issue if its running, but yes it could be a reason for poor battery life

Yeah, I pretty much open itunes as soon as I log on, and just leave it open all day so I can access it quickly at any point.

iTunes and i hate it and my ipod. My ipod is pretty much dead now just like this laptop but it's stressing me out big time.
#8
iTunes due to my iPod, my iTV, my iSofa and my iLife.

then its likely a factor in diminished battery life yeppers, its poorly coded for windows, considering ms can code very good software for the mac, you would expect apple to be able to do the same for windows but apparently that is not the case.

Sound cloud for mixes, spotify for albums I haven't got and my mp3 player for the rest. I try my best to avoid using iTunes.

^This.

I mean, come on. Its name is a combination of "Win" and "amp". You can't get better music software than that.

^this. there is nothing better, the only thing I wish it had over wmp was support for the buttons on my laptop instead of using its hotkeys. but its still better than everything else imo.

I think I'm one of the rare few who uses Zune. It has a few tiny drawbacks, but it's nothing I can't live without for something that works fairly well. Only about 120MB of RAM and I've never had it crash or freeze. It always runs smoothly.

iTunes on Mac, it runs a lot better than on windows.

edit: 4-6% of 1 core and under 100MB of RAM usage
You're using UG classic, congratulations.
You should be using UG classic.

Usually you could have ignored the device and put the hardrive as a watch folder.
