here was my first build, an 18 watt. it was pointed out to me by several people that there were things that i could have done better. keep in mind it was my first build.

one thing that was pointed out to me was that the heater wires should have been wrapped tighter, another person said something about the "lead dress" wasn't the best, and i still don't even know what this is.

i want to learn so my next build is better.

here is a picture of my 18w

anything you point out will be greatly appreciated.

my next build is a plexi. a weber 6M45 with kt66's. i am aware there are better kits out there than weber's, but i am short on cash for the moment, and really wanted to do a build.

right now however, i just would like some tips on what i should do differently.

thanks.

Lead dress is grouping your wire neater and grouping them properly (Like keep signal wires away from power wires).
And yeah, thats a bit messy.

so for example grouping the transformer wires better and twisting them into a bundle. grouping the wires off of the turret board that go to the same pot and twist? and similar stuff.

You asked for tips. The grounding scheme in the Weber layout probably isn't the best way to do it. Look up star grounding. There's a lot of talk on grounding layouts in the Weber forum as well.

and thank you for the tips, they are greatly appreciated, and i will look up star grounding.

also i dont know if you have but when are you able to access the weber forum? i regestered the other night and it said i needed to be approved by admin, and i still haven't been. just curious.
