Hello, so I'm getting ready to record, and I have almost everything I need, I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions/opinions about my rig.

Washburn Electric Guitar

B-154DX Ltd. Electric Bass

Alesis DM6 Drum Set

(Will probably get a) Shure SM58 (B-Stock) Microphone

(Will probably get a) Behringer U-CONTROL UMX610 61-Key USB/MIDI Controller Keyboard with USB/Audio Interface

Software:

GTR Waves

Cubase 6 (For auto-tuning my voice)

(Will probably get) BFD2 (Drums)

Audacity for recording

======

Right now I'm not looking at a preamp because the songs I'm looking to record don't require that NOW, but you never know, Dream Theater has (some very talented, but) very strange musicians.

Youre missing a chainsaw and glass bottles

If you like the sound, then our opinions don't matter, it is whatever sound you are looking for, not what we want.

Well if I do already have Cubase then I guess I could use that for recording.

And I'll try Reaper, I've heard that's good too.

PS: Any good sound cards anyone?

I can't for the life of me imagine why a person would shell out $700 for Cubase, and then use another software platform to record.

Could I get some more talent in the monitors, please?

I know it sounds crazy, but try to learn to inhale your voice. www.thebelcantotechnique.com

Cubase 6 (For auto-tuning my voice)

If thats all you're using Cubase for, you wasted your money. You should just hand me your license now

(I know you're newer to this board so I'll fill you in, I'm the general asshat around here. I just took a week vacation in the hospital)

If you bought Cubase you also wasted your money,
theres enough preactivated warez out there.

Now to add constructive stuff:

Dont you plan to get studio monitors ?

Promoting the idea of illegally downloading something is against board rules (if I remember right)
