i have a gibson les paul junior and i have to replace the nut. i have replaced them before just not for myself, and i want a really good one.

what are your recommendations?

I do agree with getting a pre-cut nut from stew-mac, but I would suggest a bone nut.

I prefer bone nuts for non-trem guitars and graphtech nuts for guitars with trems.

Just my personal preference.

may i ask why?

and besides graphtech, what about earvana? expensive but they are compensated. how well do tehy work?

I find bone nuts to have slightly more sustain.

I use graphtech in guitars with tremolos because they're lubricated and reduce friction between the string and the nut.

I hear good things about earvana, but I personally have no experience with them.
