Song can be heard here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxcDV0QW4Us

This is a song I co-wrote and recorded with a guitarist friend of mine who's girlfriend had just left him after a four-year relationship with no explanation. On the lyrics front he wrote the first verse, I wrote the rest. Read/listen and enjoy...

(Riff + Solo)

She left me in the gutter
Yeah she left me here for dead (she left me here for dead)
She didn’t give a shit about nothing
So I’m left with the shit instead
And you’re left with no respect

Burn like your hair girl (yeah, yeah)
Sold me like the western world (yeah, yeah)
Turns out things don’t turn out so well (yeah, yeah)
When you’re flowing through the system down to hell

(Riff)

Oh what a way to do it, I’m weighing what to do with
All that remains inside a shattered soul and shell
A turning point without a sign, the wonder left and I wonder why
Who knew that an angel could drag me down to hell

Burn like your hair girl (yeah, yeah)
Sold me like the western world (yeah, yeah)
Turns out things don’t turn out so well (yeah, yeah)
When you’re flowing through the system down to hell

(Breakdown + Buildup + Solo)

Burn like your hair girl (yeah, yeah)
Sold me like the western world (yeah, yeah)
Turns out things don’t turn out so well (yeah, yeah)
When you’re flowing through the system down to hell

Burn like your hair girl (solo lick)
Sold me like the western world (solo lick)
Turns out things don’t turn out so well (solo lick)
When you’re flowing through the system down to hell

(Solo lick and fade)

Dude I can't believe no one has said anything about this yet. It was awesome!

Lyrically it wasn't really my thing, but you can't deny that it's well done. That guitar was pretty sweet, was that you playing or your friend?

Good Job!

My friend played the guitar parts but I wrote the riffs. I did the bass. drum programming and production.

Haha, I couldn't listen to this because I'm in work, the lyrics weren't my thing really, but for the genre I guess they're alright. I think most metal bands write lyrics and then glance over them and think "....They'll do!"

Nah, I'm commenting because you begin the song with (Riff and Solo) And song that begins with a solo isn't going to be my bag

Perhaps a listen or two might remedy that problem It's also more of a hard rock song than metal imo.

Yeah, I'll listen when I get the chance, Youtube is blocked on my work computer :/ But I was only joking about the Riff and solo, I could just imagine like 4 seconds of a riff and then a 9-minute long metal solo to start the bloody thing..

Not the case at all lol, the riff and solo happen at the same time and the first verse comes in after about 19 seconds.
