Okay so I was thinking about getting a Floyd Rose equipped guitar, but I was worried about tunings...

The Tunings i commonly play in are Standard, Eb, Drop C#, and Drop D...

If I was to get a Capo and a Detuna, I would be able to just tune my Guitar to Eb and Capo the first fret, right?

I know I would lose the 24th fret, but I'm not really worried about that.

Any input on this idea?

If you get a D-Tuna, you won't really be able to use the Floyd to it's full potential Kind of defeats the puprose, IMO.

A capo would be fine though. A lot more fine than it would be on a fixed bridge guitar actually, because a guitar with an FR has fine tuners.

If you don't mind me asking, how does a D-tuna "defeat the purpose" of a Floyd?

Maybe I am just Naive, as this will be my first Floyd Guitar, but I don't see how It will defeat the purpose...

You have to block the floyd since the d-tuna doesn't fit into the route. So you will only be able to lower the pitch and not raise it.

Not an expert but aren't D-tunas for FR systems? Thats where I have seen them at least...

^ It is, but look at the damn thing!

You think that's going to pass into the body if you pull up?

Feel free to express yours so I can make an informed judgement about how stupid you are.

Wow, didn't think of that...

Is anyone brave enough to route a D-tuna hole into their precious guitar?

xD

Unless a person really wants to spend the money and have a slot routed for the D-tuna. But I think it would be a waste of money.

I actually do have a D-tuna on my M-202, I had a slot professionally routed for it, the only issue it does have now is i still cant pull up on the floyd all the way, which your really not suppose to do, but it sounds awesome

Where did you get this info from? The only problem you'll have pulling up all the way is you might break a string (I still haven't yet). I actually want to get my Jackson routed a little deeper so I can pull up more. My Ibanez can pull up a little farther and I like having that little something more.
