hey guys whats up...

im wondering what is considered the best fender guitar under 700$...i play basically any genre and i love the feel of fender guitars.

I've been told the Fender Players Deluxe is the best, but i've also been told to check out the Standard HSS Strat

i dunno, i have a line 6 spider 4 15w, which im upgrading very soon and im looking to upgrade guitars as well

thanks guys!

I've got a Mexican HSS, and it's a really solid workhorse. You can easily get a used one for $300, and since it has both a humbucker and single coils, it's pretty versatile. You could go for an American made model, but in my opinion, you're probably better off spending the extra $400 on the amp.
Gear:
Guitars:
Fender MIM HSS Strat
Ibanez ART-100 (w/ Bareknuckle pup)
Squier Strat (Bleh)
Amps:
Orange Tiny Terror 15w Head
Blackheart Little Giant 5w Head
Blackheart 1x12 Cab

ya, thats what i was thinking...im trying to get a new good amp and a new guitar for 1000$

I have the mexican hss, and, as notkots so eloquently put it, it's a !@#$%ing workhorse, and extremely versatile. I would agree with getting a better amp first though, but if you're looking for a good fender under 700, you can't go wrong with the hss.

at the moment i have a Epiphone Les Paul...and im trying to get more of a single coil kind of sound....

i know this is straying off subject, but would it be worth buying these: http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Seymour-Duncan-SHPR1s-PRails-mdash-Neck-and-Bridge-Pickup-Set?sku=583280

instead of buying a Completely new fender...

dont get me wrong, fender is one of my favorite brands out there, but could i slap these in my les paul and get a better blues tone out of it, since these are single coil and humbuckers?

random question, but im curious about them

Meh. For $120 more, you could just get a guitar that's not only better suited for the style, but also more solidly built than the Epiphone. Plus, you need to factor in the costs of having the pickups installed; depending on where you go, it will probably be $40-50, so you're looking at about $230 to upgrade a mediocre guitar with pickups that may or may not be that great. Why not just get the Strat for Blues and keep the LP as it is for other styles or whatnot?

sounds good...alright, i'll try to factor out cost and what not....so at the moment i guess the total best fender under 700$ is a standard HSS strat?

Any of the Deluxe or Classic Player guitars are the best Fender gets without going to American prices. If you can find an American Fender HSS Strat second hand for under $700 that's in good condition then that would be good too although the MIM Deluxe and CP models do have more special features than the Americna lines so if you play a lot of stuff and want many options then the Mexican models are still the way to go.

Check out the Fender Deluxe Roadhouse Strat. I have it and I love it. It's $600, and it's awesome. It has the Texas Special pups, which are the same pickups that are in the $17,000 SRV model. If you're getting more into blues, I'd definitely try that one out.

You can find a used USA Strat for that. That's what I'd do, anyway.

best advice here.

i'd try to find a strat plus from the late 80s, they can be had that cheap occasionally and are a great build.

and i just posted a shitton of good amps in one of your amp threads.

http://louisville.craigslist.org/msg/2328056551.html usa strat, hot rail bridge pup, $600
http://louisville.craigslist.org/msg/2324661863.html usa deluxe strat, ash body, $750
http://louisville.craigslist.org/msg/2315629187.html mij strat, $550. a little high but a good stat.
http://louisville.craigslist.org/msg/2312152747.html not sure if the strat is USA, but it comes with an amp you can flip. if it's a mexi i'd pass.
http://louisville.craigslist.org/msg/2289347173.html mexi with duncans, $285.

for your budget, get a used usa.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.

The only real answer to the SG vs Les Paul debate is to get a Flying V and laugh at all the suckers who don't have one.
