Is there anything you can consume (short of drugs) eg eat/drink that can intensify dreams.

I've heard of the old 'cheese gives you nightmares' but is there anything that genuinely dose intensify/influence dreams

A large chunk of cheese before bed gives me extremely vivid dreams as opposed to bad ones.

Aside from that, alcohol generally makes a difference.

I have vivid dreams no matter what I eat. It's ****ed because there are times that I legitimately can't tell if something was a dream or actually happened.

yes. a lot of nsaids i use has 'vivid dreaming' in the rediculously long list of possible side effects.

Apparently cinnamon before bed gives you some trippy dreams. Haven't tried, but hey

Also I predict that the thread title will change to 'question on boobs'.

Two things:

1. Stay up 24 hours and then try doze off while sitting in a chair. You will remain in the semi-sleep/awake stage because of exhaustion and fear of falling off the chair. It is basically self-inducing old hag disorder. Instant party. I've actually had hallucinations both audible and visual doing this (while at work.)

2. Set your alarm clock thirty minutes before you usually do. Hit snooze when it goes off, go back to sleep and try to resume the dream you were just having. It will be much more lucid and moldable.

I heard the same thing. Being hammered drunk will give you some pretty crazy dreams too.

We have a thread for questions on dreams.

To answer your question, apparently cheddar cheese makes you dream of celebrities more often.

There are dream herbs such as Calea Zachatechichi, Silene Capensis, and Valerian Root which are all said to intensify your dreams.

Here's a list of a bunch of them: http://www.world-of-lucid-dreaming.com/dream-herbs.html

EDIT: I also find that when I'm sick and taking cough syrup (at normal doses) my dreams will be extremely intense and easy to remember.

Smoke weed every day for about 4 years, then stop all at once.

I've been having some crazy ass dreams lately...

You, good sir, have not gone over to your friends house after a hard night of drinking to find 2 dudes passed out in the same room both holding their own flaccid cocks in hand, passed out, with porn on the tv.

Happens to me in classes all the time. Its hard to keep track of what the professor actually said.

Also, you can eat just about anything immediately before you go to bed, and your dreams will descend into lunacy.
