I kinda like it, Breathe had a 90's emo vibe over it. The only thing i can criticize is that it could have been a bit more raw, was a little too touched up and poppy now. Also, the singer needs to sing with even more emotion and passion.

Use this for reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipsjDHYu3jA

That guy sings with all his heart and soul. I'm not saying that you should copy him but just listen to it, you can hear the emotion in his voice. Allow yourself to lose it, it doesn't have to be perfect.

Other than that it was good.

Also, a big thumbs up for having a guitar solo, not many (nonmetal)bands have the guts to have one in their songs nowadays.
My gear:
  • Fender American Standard Telecaster
  • Ibanez RG450
  • Laney VC15
  • Electro Harmonix HOG
  • Vox Satchurator
  • Blackout Effectors Musket fuzz
  • Electro Harmonix Pulsar
  • Earthquaker Devices Disaster Transport
  • Malekko Chicklett

Hey man, thanks for taking the time to listen really appreciate it!
Ahh bad times, guess that's what you compromise some times with getting some recordings done in a proper studio might loose some of the rawness of live playing and rougher recordings!

I see what you mean about the guy from Cap'n Jazz- My voice is much softer than his though! Hah, if I could sing with that rough a tone I probably would sound more emotional in my singing!

Glad you enjoyed the guitar solo man! Despite our non-heaviness I was raised on lead guitar so love to stick solos in every song even the really soft ones!

If you want a more raw song along a similar vibe to Breathe you should check out the first song on the E.P.

I think it'll be much more to your liking, and it has three guitar solos!

I definetly like what i'm hearing, great feeling in the music. Also don't take the criticism about your voice the wrong way, i really dig it, just thought that the music could use a bit more chaos. Although that's only my preference(I'm a major fan of 90's chaotic emo music in the style of Cap'n Jazz), if you dig the more controlled sound i respect that. I'm very interested to hear what you guys have in the future, we need more good Alternative rock bands around.

Balls. This is really sweet man, the recording is flawless. What kind of studio did you go to and how much did you spend?

Haha thanks man! I'm glad you enjoyed it xD
Excellet studio, proper rough and retro styled.
It's an old house that's been converted and the vibe is incredible (=
We spent 6 days recording three songs including mixing and mastering and it's £150 a day.
Deffinitely worth it though cause the quality is incredible!

Wicked man, that's great xD
And nah man! I try never to take criticism in any bad way because it always means I can improve future work (=
I think it depends on the song, for me personally breathe is quite soft and I like the controlled vibe as you describe it but for something like In Her Eyes that is more up beat and heavy I can totally dig your idea of a more emotional/raw performance (= It's just difficult to achieve without straining my voice!
Thanks for the input though!
