Ok, i did a quick searchbar and found nothing on this, but basically i keep having problems with the high E string on my guitar. Every time i trim the string up by the machine head the string finds it necessary to uncoil itself, the only way i can even play is to lock the string down at the nut (luckily this guitar has a floating bridge so i can do so) so it's held in place even when it uncoils. Does anyone know how/why this might be happening? I know it's not the brand of strings i use because they're fine on my other, cheaper guitar. I'm using 10-52 gauge in E standard.

Hi. Can someone tell me which guitars are real 24 fret guitars and which are just 22 fret guitars with 2 extra frets added on?

Wind it round a few times before cutting it off?

It doesn'tmake a difference to sound, before you ask.

Also, tighten the machine heads if that's the thing that is uncoiling them.

Ah, i've found the problem i believe. The machine head is loose, and no matter how much i tighten the nut onto it it continues to rattle, and since this doesn't happen on my other guitar that's probably it. Now i just have to fix this problem... To google!

Does the end of your tuning key have a screw? If so, try tightening that.

Tried that yeah, i have no idea what the problem could be. Nothing seems to be broken or out of place.

Well, if you tightened the nut and tightened the screw, I think the only reasonable conclusion at this point is that it's broken. You might just have to replace it.

Well i attmepted my last resort of take-it-apart-then-reassemble-it and strangely it's not rattling anymore, so should the string unwind itself after trimming i'll probably just buy some grovers or sperzels, if it stays wound thankyou for your help!
