I'm just wondering if this exists. If there are bands out there that aren't metal in some way but have lyrics about wizards, wikings, dragons, etc.

Ex] Led Zeppelin has that song The Battle Of Evermore. Fantasy lyrics, but not metal. Also Immigrant Song is somewhat like that.

Can anyone reccomend me bands that fit this criteria if they know any?

How was Confucius death metal?
You've clearly never read any Confuscius.

I should have mentioned Coheed, stupid me. I love that band to death, they were the band for the first real concert I went to.

I guess Pinball Wizard isn't an acceptable answer
If you could turn into a member of the opposite sex, would you make love to your former body? Think about that.

I think The Mars Volta's lyrics could be considered fantasy...at least De-loused

Mars is pretty metal, though. Bombastically, anyway.

TS needs to listen to more in the way of classic prog rock. Rush and Yes and the like.

Nothing's wrong with metal with fantasy lyrics, I try to listen to a lot of it, I just wondered if nonmetal fantasy stuff existed. I own Moving Pictures by Rush, but I would love to hear more of their sci-fi fantasy lyric songs.

2112 is a must.

Fly by Night is as well.

The other 26,000 albums they've put out are also mandatory owns.

Hawkwind. They did a whole album based on fantasy writer Michael Moorcock's Elric and even had Moorcock help write lyrics for this album and previous albums.
Satan. Grant this man the gift of revenge against his foes at the Food Network.

Slint has a couple songs that are kind of fantasy based. Nosferatu Man is about Nosfuratu (natch,) and Good Morning, Captain is loosely of based on Rime of the Ancient Mariner.

They're not always about wizards and dragons, but Wolfmother has some fantasy-esque lyrics.

Flaming Lips, Floyd, Muse, Rush (2112 thingy)... if you consider erotic fantasies you really should listen to some QotSA songs (at least I think they're fantasies)

How come no one's said Flight of the Conchords anyway? Songs bout robots, LotR n shizzle

Thank you for that. I've got that album on vinyl, but that album is a weird one to listen to because there isn't much to distinguish the songs from one another.

My ex did the same. Cheated on me and then acted like I'd given her sister a facial. Women are retarded.
