I picked up a set of rotosound 77's (.45-.105) and I was wondering if I could use the E and A strings from the rotosound set and my current DR black beautys (.45-.105) D and G strings so I could get the sound of flatwounds for normal playing (I usually stick to the E and A anyways) and use the black beauty's to preserve my slap/pop tone that you can't really get with flats. Has anyone ever tried this? Will it sound like complete shit?
