Hey folks.

So I picked up this Ibanez acoustic electric about 8 months ago, used. I didn't notice any wear marks on it then, so I think I'm responsible for this...

The finish is gone in the area between the sound hole and the pickguard. I know, I need to be gentler. My concern now is protecting the wood and preventing the damage from getting worse. Is there anything I can do myself in this regard?

Thanks.

Touch up with thin layers of the same type of lacquer?
To prevent the damage getting worse, strum properly.
There's a good chance that what I've written above is useless and if you take any of the advice it's your own fault.
