I feel like I've neglected my writing recently, especially my lyrics... Here's a set I wrote that I'm fairly happy with though.

I heard the only thing we had to fear
was the throw of the dice
Not bombs falling from the heavens
Just the threat would suffice

I won't listen
to your persuading tongue
words so sweetly
disguise the acid
undertones

Time in the hands of the immortals
a vision spins round my head
Just like a flame on the horizon
turns from green to red

From red to black, and back to green
a grin that stretches ear to ear
Its not the bombs, the bullets that I fear
but something that freezes us all

I won't listen
to your chastising tongue
sticks and stones will break my bones
but words so caustic
help no one

If we could only break free
break those chains of doubt and fear
or if you trusted me
and understood the things I see
or if you listened hard
and heard the sound of a soft alarm
or just the thunder from afar

Just like a flame on the horizon
turns from green to red
Its not the bombs, the bullets that I fear
but what will follow them, instead

And I wonder
maybe you were right
pull the glass shards from my eyes
and say goodnight

Tell me what you think, I have a song for them all worked out.

Very well composed. I should very much like to hear some music behind that. I could see a sort of ambient chugging metal song backing it for sure.
