With a third of the year passed, I think it would be good to hear some opinions on what everyone's favourite albums are so far, from 2011.

Here's my current top ten, with my favourites towards the bottom.

The Dodos - No Color
Grails - Deep Politics
Panda Bear - Tomboy
Holy Ghost! - Holy Ghost!
Kurt Vile - Smoke Ring for My Halo
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart - Belong
Sun Devoured Earth - Untitled
Battles - Gloss Drop
Ringo Deathstarr - Colour Trip
Yuck - Yuck

It's already been a wonderful year, and I've found ~45 albums that I've really enjoyed so far, which is just under the whole output of last year! What about yourself?

I literally don't know who any of those bands are.
I can only listen to so many breakdowns and "spoken word" vocals before I wanna puke.

I find Jennette McCurdy attractive, but Elizabeth Gillies and Debby Ryan much more so.

That's enough, Djent people. We get it.

Well list your own favourites, that's the point

And, really? The Pains of Being Pure at heart are pretty well known, Battles have been on an advert, albeit a while ago, and Yuck are the current NME buzz band!

edit: Panda Bear is Noah Lennox of Animal Collective, also. Really big following.

edit 2:

I agree on the Pains!

You'd probably enjoy Ringo Deathstarr and Yuck, if you haven't already heard them.

Well, I'm not really into Indie Rock-type bands, so I guess that explains my first post. I haven't had a whole lot of albums out yet this year from my favorite bands...

That's the only album I've really loved this year. Airborne Toxic Event's new album comes out next week though and I'm expecting it to be great :]

The Foo Fighters and Panic at the Disco both had pretty solid albums
Ted: [Whispering to Bill] Your stepmom is cute.
Bill: Shut up, Ted.
Ted: Remember when she was a senior and we were freshmen?
Bill: Shut up, Ted!

I haven't listened to much yet, I've listened to about 8 albums so far this year and those are the only ones I liked. This year kind of sucks so far, but a lot of good stuff is coming out later in the year (I hope). I have a list of about 50 albums or so that I need to check out though so far.
There are a couple albums that are out that I haven't listened to but I like the band so maybe it'll make me think better of this year.

Er just off the top of my head I can only think of two albums from this year I've really gotten into

Earth - Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light 1
Wolf & Lamb vs Soul Clap
#14
The only album so far this year I've liked is Wasting Light, even that was a bit disappointing. Still solid though.

Hoping Soundgarden delivers.

can't you wait untill th end of the year to decide?

I'm not deciding, just recommending things to others that I've liked so far and hoping for something I'll like in return. If I didn't discuss it until December I'd have no time to listen to everything that other people liked.

The Weeknd's House Of Balloons was much better than I was expecting.

I hated that, couldn't get into it at all! The Antlers' Burst Apart is somewhere in my top ten now, since the studio version is streaming on npr now.

Lemuria - Pebble
The Braces - First World Problems
Joie de Vivre & Sleep Bellumn Sonno - Split
P.S. Eliot - Sadie
Saturday Night Karaoke - Duh!
Wagers - New Guilt
Make it Plain - We Live Together

A lot of those are just EPs or splits or whatever, but still.

The Strokes, Screeching Weasel, and Radiohead all came out with rather meh albums.

Title Fight's Shed has stood out so far as the best for me. Hmm, I dont really know what other albums have been released recently. Explosions in the Sky's new album was pretty enjoyable.
#25
I still haven't even bothered listening to EitS's or This Will Destroy You's new albums yet. I forgot to say that Spraynyard's Funtitled was pretty good. For a Latterman copy, anyways.
#26
Mogwai - Hardcore Will Never Die But You Will
FOUND - Factorycraft
James Blake - James Blake
Panda Bear - Tomboy
Vessels - Helioscope
This Will Destroy You - Tunnel Blanket
Gridlink - Amber
Ghostpoet - Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam
Conquering Animal Sound - Kammerspiel
Yuck - Yuck

There's loads more too, it's been a great year so far.

The point of underground bands is their not popular or famous most of the time. Thus there is a good chance they suck.
#27
The only new album I've bought this year is King of Limbs. I have listened to the new Lupe Fiasco (some of it's good, most of it dissapointing) and the new Explosions in The Sky.

So I guess those three.

Edit: I've listened to more, but those three are the only albums I care about so far.

O'death - Outside

An aquired taste I suppose, but 'Bugs' is killer, as is Alamar.
