Saw this recently and thought i'd share.

Yes it's a 5 watt Marshall AFD Slash Sig amp.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5QvX9fOJtk

Info was posted on his FB page.

Still unclear if it will come with a top hat, empty bottle of jack, or a pack of Marlboros.

anyway, looks interesting.

I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.

Doesn't sound too bad actually... But that's just a YouTube video camera clip eh?

probably end up being a glorified MG type thing

Imagine the part of the ballsack where occasionally old poo sticks to the pubes and hardens, and you then have to pull out, but as an amp. That's an MG.

Greatest quote of all time?

I think so...
#3
Bet it's just a Class 5 with some SS trickery for added gain and an extra $100 associated with the sig name.
#4
it'll end up being a more expensive MG...

i dont see why Marshall doesnt just revert back to the old (better) ways

I didn't notice the video is loaded and 08 that's funny. From what I understand this is coming out soon. I just think it's a shame it isnt 15 watts that would actually be usable to a lot of gigging musicians.

Do you guys have any idea how long it takes to produce an amp from the time it begins development in a large bureaucratic red tape machine like marshall???

Wow I really expected more interest.

I hope thats 5 watts tube. Im sure it will be. Like previously stated, it will probably be just a supped up Class 5
#13
It is said to be to be but we will see. It wouldn't surprise me if it isn't. It also wouldn't surprise me if it had some solid state preamp stuff going on.

There are plenty of threads on other forums I just thought I'd share is here. Seeing as how we lead the league in slash fans...

I wonder if it's because its another slash sig amp or because of marshall's lower quality these days

With Marshalls recent track record I'm not terribly excited for it.

Your skepticism is only surpassed by your sarcasm.

But no it certainly wouldn't be for everyone it's certainly not for me but if it was 15 watts I would be interested in trying it.

I'm somewhat interested. Honestly it just seems like it could be a MV version of the Class 5, which now that I think about it, I'd actually want. If they manage to price it reasonably I'd it could be pretty good.

Also, just because it's a new, small valve amp from Marshall, does not mean it's just an MG with toobs. If everyone's going to discredit everything Marshall does from now on just because of the MG series, then why should they even try to make a respectable amp?

I was rather unimpressed with the class 5, why should I be excited for this?

Not saying you should be. Honestly I liked the Class 5, not the price tag though. I'm just tired of everyone saying Marshall can't put out a decent amp, and saying all there new amps suck before they're even available.

agreed.

if it was 15 watts, had a decent amount of gain, reverb, a loop, and a normal price tag it would be very well received.

but yea, never underestimate the hate of all things marshall on UG.

Oh definitely, some of that hate is warranted, but most of it isn't. Honestly I'd just be happy if it was 15 watts and had a decent price. Then again I don't have much use for reverb or an fx loop anyway.

I'm interested to see how this would compare to something like a Blackheart Handsome Devil or the Tiny Terror.

I've been saying on here for ages that I like the Class 5. I happen to like Slash and 15 watt amps too so if it is not overly priced I'm sure it will be worth consideration.

now.....where are they?

Well, I really liked the Class 5, but they failed with the 100W AFD so why would the low wattage one be any good either?

I mean, how hard is it to clone a 2203 or cascaded Super without cocking it up?

i like the class 5 too. but i have no use for a 5 watter. at face value it seems like it could be decent. i probably wouldn't buy one.

You said 'coming soon'?

i'm sure they are. do you doubt that marshall would pass on a chance to sell "slash" amps to the 5 watt crowd?

marshall probably noticed on youtube that there are countless kids at home trying to find slash tone from a 5w tube amp. and thought hey, we can sell this.

and they'll probably be able to sell a shiet load of this thing.

eh, i think it'll end up being a more-expensive variant of the MG.

not to say Marshall can't make good amps (look at the JCM800)...but if its even tagged "decent"...its going to be insanely overpriced for a 5w amp.

i forsee this amp either being bad, or way overpriced

thats my $.02 on it

imo the AFD was one of the best amps Marshall have released in a while.

Considering the stiffest competition it faces is the DSL and the 900, that's not a terribly amazing accomplishment.
