I put up a couple of new songs. C4C as usual.

http://profile.ultimate-guitar.com/AzureNight/

1) "another psychedelic/space rock jam" - me on guitar (Fender Strat), we were very stoned so the latter half kinda sucks, but I really like the atmosphere of the first half of the song. Part of our late 60's/early 70's improvised psychedelic/space jams.

2) "psychedelic jam" - part of the same jam as the first song, again, with me on guitar. More structured than the first one, but I noticed at one point my incessantly stoned drummer friend loses the beat for a moment lol. Otherwise it goes well with our homage to late 60's psychedelia.

3) "80's style Industrial electro" - been listening to a lot of Skinny Puppy, Depeche Mode, and Front Line Assembly lately, and have also been playing around with virtual synths. Was going for a mid 80's influenced industrial/electronic sound. I used FL10 Studio, Roland TR707 samples and the Arturia Minimoog virtual synth.

edit:
4) a third song from the same jam as the first two. Along the same lines.

Thanks for listening (if you do)!

I got a very early Pink Floyd meets Velvet Undergound feeling from the first two so fvcking ace job there. I honestly didn't really notice the drum inconsistencies that much, but then again, I kind of associate off kilter but not syncopated percussion with the whole art rock thing. The overblown mics is a bit much though.

The industrial elctro thing sound like it should be a part of a retro themed action game. Like if they made the original Tron into an Xbox 360 title. I could totally see it being the bgm for the solar sailor level lol. good stuff.

c4c? thanks! https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1436046

Cheers man, I'll check out your stuff later as I have an exam at 2 today.

Yeah, the production blows ass lol, we recorded those first two with just one mic in the middle of the room.

Added another song to my profile from the same jam as the first two. "third psychedelic song" on my profile.

Cheers to anyone who comments/listens!

AzureNight,
I used to own a TR-707 for many years, and I also own Arturia Analog Factory (has the Mini Moog), Prophet V, and Moog Modular, so I listened to "Industrial Electro": I like the intro pad. Intro synth bass needs more consistent volume (watch the velocity numbers). The drums sound at least partially familiar. Wouldn't mind hearing some vocals on this, but otherwise sounds cool to me! Please review my music at this link (the first song has plenty of Analog Factory & Prophet V sounds) at this link:

Cheers, I'll listen to your stuff in a bit. I was thinking of adding some samples here and there to that song, but haven't had the time recently to tinker with these songs.

What do you mean by "Intro synth bass needs more consistent volume" though? I never changed the volume on that chugging synth sound throughout the track. Perhaps it's just blending in with the myriad of other sounds I have going on at times? How would I fix that?

I checked out the industrial one.

Good stuff here man! The synths were quality, very legit. The song itself was good, but I feel it needs more to it. Idk if it needs vocals or what. I think, IMO, it could use some soundscapes, like obscure background noises and layers. But maybe you were going for a more laid back simpler sound. That's my take on it anyways, I'm kinda all about layers and noises. But all in all great job dude, keep it up.

Care to check out my stuff? I recommend Homemade and I am a Scatterbrain, those are more Industrial influenced.
