I've recently aquired a Stratocaster style guitar with "Boston" on the headstock. After a bit of Googling, I found that a model used to exist under the umbrella corporation of Westfield. The model under their website has a different headstock design to the one I have. The one I have has the Fender Stratocaster headstock.

I was just wondering what year Fender copyrighted their unique headstock.

I've tried Google, but I've not had much luck. Probably because I'm retarded. Any help would be awesome, then I can approximate how old this guitar is.

I think they did it right when it came out. BUT some countries or something aren't restricted by the copyright or SOMETHING. I don't remember what the case was, whether they got permission or aren't restricted but a few German companies copy the fender headstock exactly as well.

The headstock in the link isn't a Fender Strat headstock. It's similar, but it's definitely not the same. Fender Strat headstocks can also have different shapes depending on the model and the era.

He said the pic was different in his post. But yeah, they're all copyrighted.

I missed that! The headstock copyright is all explained in the Strat 50th anniversary book. I'll see if I can find any info on it.

Aye. From what I can tell, it's a Fender headstock.
