I currently use Sony ACID Music Studio 8 and Vegas Pro 10, I want to know which programs do exactly the same as any of these two but are more professional.
I really want to take my recording to a higher level and since I have a good budget I thought I would at least put some of it into programs.

Logic, Sonar, and Reaper are some other ones as well. I'm partial to Pro Tools, myself!
Do you love Alice In Chains and Metallica? How about Tool and Velvet Revolver?...then you need to check out one of the most refreshing new hard rock bands in awhile...-->The Liberty Underground<--
The software doesn't really matter too much, as long as it can do what you need it to do. I like Reaper. Even after it's 30 day trial is over, you can continue to use it for free! You can choose to pay as well.

How are the tonal properties of stop signs, anyway? They're made of aluminum, right?
