Ok this isn't a guitar question but I am in dire need of an answer and don't want to join a mandolin forum to get an answer.

I am buying a rondo music mandolin, I can get a regular one for $70 or an electric for $80, the electric has a strat style pup and a volume and tone knob, will these additions seriously harm the tone when I am playing it acoustically? this will be my first and I don't want to be turned off when I play it acoustically

I shouldn't think so.
There's a good chance that what I've written above is useless and if you take any of the advice it's your own fault.

links? if the electric is an acoustic-electric, than the sound will be pretty good. If it is just an electric with no f-holes or any of that sort of thing than it will sound as good as playing a regular fender strat unplugged.
I don't know if you'll be turned off by it but it will be very quiet if it is JUST an electric one, ya dig?

It's a hollowbody, F holes standard Rondo music mandolin, but for $10 more you get it with a strat pickup
