Hello everybody! I bought an Ibanez RG earlier this week. It didn't have any strings on it and from what I could tell the neck was straight. I put stings on it and raised the action so there wasn't any buzz. The strings towards the top of the neck are close to the neck and a nice low action but towards the bottom near the body they are raised much higher. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Adjust the truss rod maybe?

adjust the action via the bridge.

how it goes is, from frets 1-5 you need to adjust the truss rod. from 5-22/24 you need to adjust the action at the bridge.

if you can't get it, take it to a tech and have them do it. FRs can be tricky the first time.

This is terrible advice. Even worse than the useless dry, sarcastic comment I made.

Or, you can get a shilling to raise the nut. But try stonymans idea first.
