I have a wall hanger for my guitar, but It made me think a little.

Would a hanger be bad for a guitar since there's always the weight of the body pulling on the neck when it hangs?

nah, i read somewhere that your strings put about 100 lbs of pressure on your neck, and it takes years for it to slightly affect it.

Hangers are recommended keep the neck straight.

Ok, that's not true, but I prefer hangers myself. They are a little safer (IMO) just because you can't kick the whole thing over.

I hang my guitars at home, use a stand when I'm out. Considering the amount of string tension on the neck, I highly doubt 6 or 7 lbs of pull on the headstock is gonna do anything to your neck. Though, it WILL make your room look cooler having guitars hanging from the walls.
