How do I make the vocals blend in more? My vocals sound very separate from the rest of the mix. I am using Reaper and an SM57 with a home made pop filter. The only effects I have on this mix is a tiny bit of reverb.

BTW That is my friend singing. He isn't a singer at all and we were just messing around. I am aware the vocals are terrible. I just want to learn how to mix them better.

it sounds like the vocal track isn't at a constant volume, so at parts it fits with the mix, but at others it over powers it. I'm pretty new at recording though, so i'm probably wrong

Ya I agree with you. Thats why I'm also trying to learn how to do compression. I'm also a noob at recording.

Compression will help a lot with the constant voice drops. It actually doesn't sound too bad
