So, long story short, My mp3 player has crappy battery life and I'm on the road a lot and on top of that my radio transmitter is pretty mediocre. So from time to time I rely on CD's..I'm not looking for a solution to my problem, I know there are many but this is what I decided to do.

Buy a whole bunch of blank CD's and make the ultimate mixes of all my favorite bands discographies and I put stipulations on how to make these CD's:

Stipulation 1:
Every album must be represented on this burned CD from you're chosen artist

Stipulation 2:

Under 80 minutes (duh)

Stipulation 3:

No Hits/Singles (exception is if you really really love the song lol)

Stipulation 4:

Must have atleast 1 B side/Cover, but no limit to how many you want

These 4 stipulations make it a semi difficult task, Which songs are fringe worthy? How many to you include from your favorite albums? Obviously this works and is more fun depending on how many albums your aforementioned band has.

So far I've done my Alkaline Trio, AFI, Green Day, and Metallica mixes.

Sorry if its not the most original idea but I've had a lot of fun with it and thought I'd share.
Post some of your own if you decide to do it.....I'll post mine later

That sounds like a pretty good idea... If I ever upgrade my '71 Volkswagen's cassette player to a CD player, I'll most definitely do that.

My Metallica one came out UGLY but the catch with Metallica was song length as well so I wanted to add certain ones but I had to include every album (including St. Anger) so I had to opt to leave off some stuff I really didnt want to like Outlaw Torn

Motorbreath
Ride The Lighning
Disposable Heroes
Leper Messiah
Blackened
Dyer's Eve
Through The Never
King Nothing
Better Then You ( looking at reload, everything not a single really sucks on that one lol)
Die Die My Darling
Bread Fan
No Leaf Clover
The Unnamed Feeling
My Apocalypse

I kinda prefer listening to an album the way the artist wanted you to, y'know? Like, as a work of art, rather than a collection of hit singles.

Doesn't all great art break the rules, really when you think about me forcing a abbreviated discography isn't that really taking these songs and making my own painting :p

I'd do this if my truck had a CD player. But alas, it just has a cassette player. I use my iPod and an iPod/cassette player adapter for on the road and all my music is on my laptop here at home so I have no need to do this.

I did this on my iPod with System of a Down but it was still 20 songs long and I could not whittle it down any further! I tried to mix it so that, although it was chopped and changed between albums a bit, they sort of lead into eath other so you wouldn't get a huge, ugly jump between songs. If anyone's interested (which they're probably not but hey) then this is what I came up with:

1. Soldier Side (intro)
2. B.Y.O.B.
3. Boom!
4. Radio/Video
5. Dreaming
6. Kill Rock 'N Roll
7. A.D.D.
8. Chop Suey!
9. Bubbles
10. Cubert
11. U-Fig
12. Atwa
13. Sugar
14. Science
15. Old School Hollywood
16. Toxicity
17. Aerials
18. Lost In Hollywood
19. Lonely Day
20. Soldier Side (outro)
