Sometimes, I really get in to the mood for music from a specific region. At this specific time, I have become obsessed with Canadian music.

So I'm looking for some recommendations of good Canadian bands. I'd prefer more indie rock, folk rock, experimental metal stuff, but anything is alright.

Hey Rosetta! is a great band from St. John's, NL. Indie rock.
Great Big Sea, also from Newfoundland and bloody amazing.
City and Colour (aka Alexisonfire's Dallas Green) is amazing as well, it's his solo folk/singer-songwriter project. One of my favourite artists to come out in years.
Tragically Hip obviously, everyone knows them. As well as Barenaked Ladies, Arcade Fire, etc.

Actually, I'm just going to go through the Wiki list and post some more bands I like:
Alexisonfire (Post-Hardcore)
Bedouin Soundclash (Folk Rock)
Black Lungs (Indie Rock?)
Cancer Bats (Hardcore Punk)
Devin Townsend Band/Project (Experimental Metal)
Do Make Say Think (Post Rock)
Godspeed You! Black Emperor (Post Rock)
IllScarlett (Rock)
Our Lady Peace (Indie Rock)
Protest the Hero (Progressive/Technical Metalcore)
A Silver Mt. Zion (Post Rock)
Sum 41 (Pop Punk/Punk)
Tokyo Police Club (Indie Rock)

Devin Townsend Band/Devin Townsend Project
Kraken
Black Knight
Weapon
Kekal (From Indonesia, based out of Calgary)

First one is all sorts of stuff, Kraken/Black Knight are heavy metal. Weapon are black/death metal, and Kekal are some weird experimental stuff (Audible Minority) whilst their early stuff is more black metal influenced.

They're Canadian? I saw the guitarist of that band trying to sell his guitar on Pawn Stars last year.

I thought they were considered to be Rush's twin brother. They played a similar style of music in a similar period of time.

I always thought they were glam rock or something. Maybe I should give them a listen.
