So yeah, I thought this would be a cool idea for a thread, if it doesn't work fair enough but I'm bored. Basically in each thread we determine the pits favourite band for a certain decade from a list of contenders. Then once it has been done for all genres the winners will be added together in a thread to determine the pit's favourite band. Now obviously not all bands will be added to the threads, as there are too many. But I will try and add as wide a scope as possible.

Now how are we going to determine this I hear you ask? Well here are the rules, I'm sure most of you have come across this format before.

NEW RULES

The first person adds a band from the sixties that they like, e.g. The Beatles. The next person adds their favourite band from the sixties, where if it is someone different they are added to the list. If you want to vote for a band which has already been voted, simply add a +1 next to their name.

FIRST TO TWENTY VOTES WINS

Part One - 1960's
Part Two - 1970's
Part Three - 1980's
Part Four - 1990's
Part Five - 2000's

Try to abide the rules please

This may be hard, as a lot of these a great bands/artists. But try and take a few points off one or two of the ones you are not keen on as well as adding points.

Right guys, I've changed the rules here, so from now on you have two points to use, and one has to heal a band, and the other hurt a band. Read the OP to find out more. This will make it work a bit better.

Right guys I have changed the rules again, I know this has been a bit of a mess, but hopefully it is right this time so we can determine the pits favourite act of the 1960's. The first act to get to 20 votes will win.

My vote

The Velvet Underground.
