Catalinbread had a special $60 off sale for the introduction of their new fuzz, the Manx Loaghtan. So naturally I had to grab one, especially since I've been missing Catalinbread ever since I sold my WIIO.

Review: Awesome. It's a Muff clone with a Baxandall tone stack that lets you get a ton of tones. It's very easy to dial in regardless though. You can hit classic triangle Muff tones, Russian Muff tones through buzzy garage rock and the like. The tone stack makes it incredibly versatile.

The build quality is great, as usual coming from Catalinbread. I feel like I could throw it off a building and it would still work great. I'm not gonna though because I lubz it.

I'll be trying to do a comparison between mine and my green muff, but it sounds good enough to knock the green muff off the gig board

$60? How much longer is this deal going on for? Might want one myself and ditch my big box Muff...

Or is it already over?

It was a by the batch type thing. The last batch closed a week and a half ago. They're out of stock ATM and when they're back they'll be $160.

My triangle Muff clones, a green Muff clone and the black Russian and the ones at GC. I like the triangles better for their specific application (smooth, singing sustain) but the Loaghtan is a much better rhythm pedal and can still get a pretty bitchin singing tone, IMO. Only the green Muff can do the big wall of sound rhythm tones like it can but it isn't as good for singing stuff. The Manx is a nice middle ground that still sounds killer at every setting.
