so apparently gibson is now chambering some LP models like the 08 standard and the Supreme (which has always been chambered). my question is, how does this effect the tone of the guitar? ive heard they still come in decently heavy, usually around 8 pounds or so but what else?

also, how does the standard 08 compare to the supreme?

I've got a chambered LP and it sounds awesome. I've sat in Guitar Center for hours trying different Les Pauls, and couldn't really tell the difference between chambered and solid ones. The chambered ones seemed to have a tiny bit more sustain to me, but not enough to convince me it's not just in my head. Also, mine is not very heavy at all, about the same as a Strat.
I can't speak for the difference between the Standard and Supreme, but I doubt it's significant.

alot of the LP's have been chambered for a few years now. it reduces the weight and gives the guitar a more open sound

every chambered lp sounds like a chambered lp. every solid lp sounds like a solid lp.
