Hey guys, simple question. I'm in favor of 7 strings with an extended range beyond 25.5", but the RG1527 has just that scale length. What's the lowest it can reasonably tune without sounding flubby? I'm not TOO big of a fan of huge gauge strings, but I can deal.

I have mine tuned to drop G right now and I still think it sounds pretty tight if it's through a suitable amp.

Effectively with the right tone and setup you can achieve most stable tunings with that guitar, its just a case of making allowances in terms of string size and tension really. It's only when you start looking at subcontra tunings that specialist instruments are more than preferable.
