Hey guys,

I built a bass and haven't been getting the sustain i need. It sounds like crap when my notes fade out so quickly. Any ideas on how i can increase it? Should i just buy a high mass bridge?

without knowing any specifics, it's hard to say where your issue is.

Things you could try:
-Raising your action (either a little or a lot)
-Messing with your amp settings (an absence of enough mids often makes my sound fade quickly)
-Improve your left hand technique and finger strength
-overdrive

Okay guys, I have a confession to make. Not really a confession since it's something that's been bugging me for awhile but I've always been in denial about it.

**** you gilly, it's not what you think

i have a really cheap, shitty bridge on it so i was thinking that could be it. i put in the two Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounds for jazz bass and they're high output so that can't be it. and i'm using Ernie Ball Hybrids
