So I'm looking for a new hollow body around..maximum price range $900.00. I'm into older rock like rockabilly, The Beatles, anything from the 50's- 70's era. What is a good quality hollow body I could buy with confidence around that price range?
Not all Epis are shit. I'd take my John Lennon casino over a Les Paul any day.

Without Yoko John wouldn't have been who he was for his solo years.

Im not an expert on hollow bodies but maybe a used Gibson? Or a higher end Epiphone.
Gretsch (is that how you spell it) makes good hollow bodies too from what I understand, but they're expensive too.

You can look at Gretsch 5120, 5122, and 5125s for that price. They're Korean versions of the Japanese built 6120s, etc. and are quality instruments. That's what I would recommend. Nothing really sounds like a Gretsch for rockabilly and early Beatles.

Epiphone Casinos are real nice, too, for a good Beatles sound. You might also want to check out a Hagstrom Viking, which are very versatile, in my opinion.

i don't have a whole lot to add here, since i have only owned one hollowbody i think it was an artcore (sold it three days later, made money), but i really haven't been impressed with any of the gretsches south of $1000 new, thats not to say you can't find a better model used at a lower price, but i was definitely not impressed.

the ibanez artcore actually seemed better than some of the gretsches i played.

what i would do is pray that you can find a Gibson ESXXX that you can afford. i am not sure what you are looking for, but i really like the 175's for what they are.

I'd aim for a Gretsch 5122 or a Epiphone Casino.

The G5122 is based off of the Gretsch Country Gentleman that a famous guitarist used, and the Casino is another guitar that was used by a similar guitarist; both of them were able to get a really good "Beatles"-esque sound. Both of them are south of $700US.
Actually, I go by Dave, but there are already too many Daves on this forum.

The Ibanez Artcore range is easily in your price range
I've never played one, but they look and sound pretty good
