I took a Squier and painted it and had my bro draw on it. Looks awesome! I bought a set of Tex Mex pickups to upgrade the Squier pickups. I absolutely hate these pickups! I got them cause they were cheap for a set. I am no Honky Tonker!!! So now I'm thinking, can I get some P90's in this thing and how? I have never had a P90 guitar, and looking at pics etc, I don't even know how they are set?! There are no screws in the pickguards of other P90 guitars...Are they screwed into the guitar itself or just floating? Can anyone point me in a good direction for a P90 strat pickguard?
i always wonder when i look at them, probably screwed in the guitar or held up by magic, and you can always trace an cut your current but maybe try guitar fetish for a cheaper already made that way one
I've played a Strat with P-90s. One word: Killer.
When altitude dropping, my ears started popping. One more red nightmare...
im copying an pasting without having watched the whole thing but since hes fat an wears glasses he probably doesnt have a life, which probably translates into more time to study guitar which makes him seem viable

there are three types of p90's
the 'normal' ones, these are screwed into the body with screw between the pole pieces. http://www.google.nl/imgres?imgurl=http://www.rocknroll-pedals.com/prodimages/Lindy-Fralin-p90-pickups.jpg&imgrefurl=http://acapella.harmony-central.com/showthread.php%3F2303132-how-are-soapbar-sized-pups-different-form-humbucker-sized-pups&usg=__JbW00EnG1Oip9BGIQ_oWH4ClbTc=&h=375&w=500&sz=29&hl=nl&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=tg96FvCKESEssM:&tbnh=130&tbnw=159&ei=RgjFTcKqD4zsOc2w6KMI&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dp90%2527s%2Bpickups%26hl%3Dnl%26sa%3DG%26biw%3D1280%26bih%3D690%26gbv%3D2%26tbm%3Disch&itbs=1&iact=rc&page=1&ndsp=27&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0&tx=142&ty=111
the 'dogear' version, screwed onto the body or in a pickguard(i've seen it once or twice in pickguard) http://www.google.nl/imgres?imgurl=http://angela.com/images/products/detail/P90DogEarBalancedPickupsSet.1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://angela.com/lindyfralinhumcancellingp90dogearbalancedpickupsset.aspx&usg=__BlI3BC7oi_f0F8zqgi-poIUnZ-U=&h=556&w=600&sz=115&hl=nl&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=xO2wZ2xVOI8hUM:&tbnh=122&tbnw=132&ei=RgjFTcKqD4zsOc2w6KMI&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dp90%2527s%2Bpickups%26hl%3Dnl%26sa%3DG%26biw%3D1280%26bih%3D690%26gbv%3D2%26tbm%3Disch&itbs=1&iact=rc&page=1&ndsp=27&ved=1t:429,r:24,s:0&tx=52&ty=95
also the humbucker sized p90, gibsons version is called p94, it fits a humbucker cover ring.

it'd say best is probably the 'normal' one. most pictures on the net of strats with p90's have those too.http://www.google.nl/search?hl=nl&biw=1280&bih=690&gbv=2&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=stratocaster+with+p90%27s&btnG=Zoeken&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=

although i would go for the dogear with the sides under the pickguard like this one
in my opinion it looks better

Cool thanks! I'm sure I could just make my pickguard support p90s, but I don't want a hole in the center. I can't wait to do it
Everyone needs at least one P-90 guitar.

OP: I think you would come out better to just buy a Squier Telecaster Deluxe. They come with two P-90's and cost $250 delivered to your door. This is just a bit more than what a couple of P-90 pickups alone would cost you, and you get to hang on to your current guitar. Gratuitous link provided...

I would go the GFS route: get a pickguard cut for two humbuckers and stick in two of their humbucker-size P90's, which are supposed to be quite nice. I set up a Strat for GFS Filter'Trons and it's a boss guitar.

But the Tele Deluxe might serve you well, too. The Duncan Design pickups are all right.
