I just realized that Taylor makes electric guitars now, and am really interested in getting one. The Solidbody classic is the one im looking at, and I think its really cool that you can completely switch out the pickups just by unscrewing the pickguard and putting a new one on. Does anyone have one of these guitars? How well would they be able to handle music from groups like ACDC and Led Zeppelin, stuff with kind of high distortion and gain? And how do they compare to Gibson les paul studios?

I've played a couple. Not really impressed. I thought the fretwork was kind of conservative in terms of fret size, and the pickups were very bland. IMO they're trying to grab a piece of the lawyer and dentist market.

A les paul studio could be good depending on the specific guitar. Definitely try several before you buy.
