I JB welded a 5/8" bolt to the bridge of my fender affinity strat. I raised the action to use it as a lap steel. Anyways whenever I start tuning the guitar the bridge raises up to high and once I get about three strings in tune the other three go out of tune. ALso I am tuning to these octaves = C3 E3 G3 A3 C4 E4 <--- I think the A should be A4 right? I am going off of the pedal steel tuning on wiki pedia because there is not one damn site that mention what octaves you are supposed to tune to.

SO is my tuning correct?

And how can I keep the bridge down. I am about to JB weld that mother ****er to the body of the guitar. Should I add more springs.

Guitar Luthiers must have the patience of a Saint!
